Crew Hours
All Booker T. students are required to complete crew hours for their conservatory. Visual Arts students are required to complete eight hours per semester.
Crew hours may also be obtained over the summer for the upcoming school year. Students must obtain proof of service.
Students can obtain crew hours through:
Performances
- Participate in a campus exhibit and recieve two hours for attending the entire reception
- Enter a piece into an outside competition or exhibit that is not required for class and receive one crew hour
- Participate in an off-campus art event
Campus service hours
- Help with auditions, teacher/classroom needs, manual labor (gallery installation, moving walls, etc.)
Volunteering
- Volunteer with school projects (mural painting, school carnivals, etc.)
- Serve on school spruce up days
- Donate artwork to a fundraiser or charity (one crew hour)
National Art Honor Society and National Honor Society require separate hours. Students cannot use crew hours toward these requirements.
If a student is paid for services, they cannot use them for crew hours.

Volunteer or Donate
The Visual Arts Guild hosts 10-12 exhibits throughout the year to recognize our students' work and celebrate our seniors. Each exhibit kicks off with a free reception in the Hudson Gallery that is open to the public. Your donations help us provide hospitality to our guests. Volunteers are also needed to help set up, serve refreshments, greet guests, and clean up after the receptions. Sign up to volunteer or donate today!
