The Art & Business class has an amazing opportunity to partner with Dallas Aurora for an event in November. If you can donate any of the following items, you or your student can drop them in Ms. Bell's room (070 on the Zero Floor). 

• Red or pink glass beads
• blue house paint (can be leftover)
• White house paint (can be leftover)
• Fabric (clothing, bedsheets, towels) in ocean colors
• Chicken wire
• Soda / water bottles
• bubble wrap
• bottle caps
• soda cans
• Styrofoam
• cardboard
• bright colored paints
• plastic grocery bags
• plastic tubes (pvc pipes)

Closer to the event we will also need parent volunteers to help transport the art to Dallas City Hall, set it up and tear it down after the event.

Upcoming volunteer needs are:

Monday, September 30: On Portfolio Day we host college reps visiting BTW to review portfolios and talk with students about post-BTW plans. We provide breakfast and lunch to our faculty and guests. Volunteers and donations are appreciated!

November 1-8: We're looking for 10-12 drivers to deliver Young American Talent materials to participating schools in North Texas. Deliveries are done during the school day so the volunteer can hand deliver the materials to the campus. YAT Chair Kay Wood will contact volunteers about their delivery route. Email Kay with questions or to volunteer.

Did you know that the Visual Arts Guild awards five, $1500 scholarships to eligible seniors each year? Every spring, we host a dinner to celebrate our seniors, award scholarships and thank our faculty. When you donate to the Visual Arts Guild's North Texas Giving Day campaign, 100% of your donation helps us continue this annual tradition.

All are invited to our first guild social of the 2024-25 school year. In lieu of an October guild meeting, we hope you'll join us Tuesday, October 22 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Oil & Cotton (2313 Beatrice Street, Suite 100 in Dallas). We'll provide light bites and soft drinks. Bring your favorite beverage.
