Good afternoon Visual Arts Guild! This newsletter is dedicated to Showcase. If you have a 9th or 10th grade student you may think Showcase doesn't apply to you, but it does! There are a variety of master classes and sessions for all students this week. And the week ends with a college fair that is open to all. So, read on for an overview of the week, and a few places where you can help!

SCHEDULE

Wednesday
Volunteers will set up the senior lounge in the Fab Lab and the guest hospitality suite in room 170.

Thursday
In the morning, volunteers from the Junior League will check in guests. Volunteers from the guild will direct guests to the hospitality suite and presentation rooms while guild volunteers serve breakfast to faculty and guests in the hospitality suite.

At lunch time, volunteers will help serve lunch to guests and faculty in the hospitality suite and seniors in the Fab Lab. In the afternoon, we'll clean up the hospitality suite and Fab Lab and set up for Friday.

Thursday evening we will host the Senior Showcase exhibit and reception from 5-7 p.m. in the Hudson Gallery. Volunteers will help set up, replenish refreshments, and clean up. Students are welcome to volunteer with their parents.

Throughout Thursday, the PTSA provides hospitality for speakers the school has brought in for underclassmen.

Friday
Friday morning Visual Arts Guild volunteers will greet guests, direct them to the hospitality suite and presentation rooms, and serve breakfast to faculty and guests. Throughout the morning we'll replenish the hospitality suite and help faculty and guests as needed.

The guild will provide lunch to the seniors in the Fab Lab. All college and university reps are invited to a lunch with faculty hosted by the PTSA.

Friday afternoon, seniors will participate in portfolio reviews in the Hudson Gallery. Guild volunteers will set up and replenish refreshments for guests throughout the afternoon. The guild also provides a sweet treat to all seniors Friday afternoon.

The guild has gift bags for all reps, presenters and seniors. Volunteers will help distribute the bags Thursday and Friday.

At the end of the day Friday, we will take down the decorations in the Fab Lab and clean up the hospitality tables in room 170 and the Hudson Gallery.

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated or volunteered. If you have an hour or two and would like to volunteer but don't want to commit, check out the sign ups for Showcase and the Senior Showcase reception and just drop in! Check in at the visitor desk in the front foyer and head to the Fab Lab (to the left of the staircase on the zero floor, across from the dance studios) or room 170 (Mr. Clark's room next to the Visual Arts senior portraits) and we'll find something for you to do! Flexibility and hospitality are key this week!!!

If you'd like an overview of all that happens during Showcase Week, check out this online schedule. Many events are open to the public so check out the other conservatory events too!
