Good evening Visual Arts students, parents and supporters! We're nearly there! Just a few reminders for the last week of first semester ...

Monday, December 16

  • BTW Student Council is hosting an ugly holiday sweater contest and the students in the Vocal department will be performing holiday music in the MAT lobby from 12-1:30 p.m.
  • Also on Monday, we'll meet at school at 2 p.m. to help load our Booker T Angel gifts for transport to H.I. Holland. We currently do not have any volunteers signed up to help at H.I. Holland at 4 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. If you have any time on Monday evening, please check the sign up for details and consider volunteering. Thank you to everyone who purchased gifts from the wishlists.

Tuesday, December 17 - Friday, December 20

  • Tuesday-Friday are early release days. Students will be dismissed at 2:25 p.m. (Please note, that is a change from the previous dismissal of 1:25 p.m.)

Friday, December 19

  • We hope all students will participate in our second annual 5x7 Art Sale by submitting a 5x7 piece in their favorite medium for the sale on January 16. The deadline to submit is Friday, December 19.

Student Opportunities

  • Young American Talent is now open. Visit yat2025.artcall.org to register and submit up to three entries before March 2025. The finalists will exhibit in the Hudson Gallery in May 2025.
  • The DART Student Artwork Contest is open through February 13. The theme is "Fantastic journeys start on DART." Get the details and submit your entry on the DART website.
