Good evening Visual Arts seniors and parents. Did you know that there are 60 days until the Class of 2025 crosses the stage at the Meyerson?! In addition to graduation, here are a few dates and reminders as we finish the semester.

Visual Arts Senior Dinner
The Visual Arts Guild will host its senior dinner in the Hudson Gallery on Monday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m.
Each student is invited to bring TWO guests for a seated dinner, awards ceremony and senior gifts presentation. Due to space limitations in the Hudson Gallery, only two guests per student are allowed

Paper invitations with QR codes to RSVP were distributed to students today. Students are asked to RSVP by Sunday, April 27. On the RSVP you can indicate any dietary restrictions. While we will have options, we cannot provide individual meals.

Parents/guardians - please upload a baby photo to the Visual Arts Google Drive so we can include it in our slideshow. Please name the photo with your students first and last name. You may also upload photos of student events, art shows, receptions, etc.

Visual Arts Senior Scholarships
Seniors can
apply for one of five $1500 Visual Arts Guild scholarships awarded at the senior dinner. To be eligible, either the student or a parent must be a member of the Visual Arts Guild. Applicants must have an intended, dedicated college major in the arts AND be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours in their freshman year. If you are unsure if you joined the guild, please email btwvisualarts@gmail.com

To apply students must provide a portfolio and artist statement and write a short essay. See the online application for details. Contact the Visual Arts Guild if you have questions about your eligibility or issues with the application.

Completed applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 2. Scholarships are awarded at the senior dinner.

Additional Scholarships
The Booker T Advisory Board also offers a senior scholarship. Its application allows the eligible student to apply for all AB scholarships in one application. Most fund tuition, room and board, books and other supplies. Scholarships are paid directly to the recipient's school. Recipients are announced at the senior awards ceremony in May.
Visit the Advisory Board website for details and the application, which is due April 15.

The Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) Giana Foundation scholarship provides one-year scholarships of up to $5,000 to current graduating high school seniors of a public high school in Dallas, Collin or Denton counties who intend to pursue a degree in the Visual and/or Performing Arts. Awards may be used for tuition, books, and fees at any accredited four year college or university or community college in the United States. Up to four scholarships will be awarded annually. Apply before April 1 on the CFT website.

Senior Week
The PTSA's Senior Activities Committee (SAC) hosts a variety of events and activities during Senior Week. For the Class of 2025, Senior Week begins May 12.
