CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to the Booker T students selected to participate in the 2025 OK2BX Film Festival.

In lieu of an April guild meeting, all are invited to our April social at Oil & Cotton on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Join us for light bites and beverages, meet new and current families, and hear news and updates from the guild.

I AM BOOKER T DAY

As you may know, I Am Booker T Day is Saturday, April 12. It is our first opportunity to welcome new students and families to Booker T. THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up to volunteer.

If you would like to support the event but don't want to commit to a volunteer shift, consider dropping by the school from 9:30-11 a.m. for the Visual Arts Conservatory breakout session. We'll be in the Commons with the Visual Arts faculty, guild officers and volunteers, and current students, and we welcome any current parents and students who would like to be on campus to talk with families, answer questions, and provide general hospitality. No commitment or donation required - just a friendly face.

VOLUNTEER NEED

We are looking for a parent or guardian who has a truck/van or can drive a truck/van to transport metal sculptures from Booker T to CMC in Irving on Wednesday, April 23. Some of our students are participating in CMC's Scrap Can Be Beautiful exhibit and contest. Email btwvisualarts@gmail.com if you can donate or drive the vehicle or make a donation to cover the expense of a rental. THANK YOU!

ELSEWHERE

Visit the Tin District this Saturday, April 5 for Spring Open Studios. More than 35 artist studios and four galleries will be open from 11 a.m - 4 p.m.

The Tin District is a thriving artist quarter in West Dallas. It's a former industrial area that is now home to art studios, galleries, and creative spaces that serve many of Dallas’ contemporary artists. For the past two years, it's also been host to our 5x7 Art Sale.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The next PTSA meeting is Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. in the Commons. The general membership will vote on the proposed slate of officers for next year's PTSA board. You must be a PTSA member and attend the meeting in person to vote.

Visual Arts Conservatory and guild events are marked with *. Visit the school calendar for details on schoolwide events.
